Today, developer Petroglyph Games has disclosed that The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is going to be released on 5th June on Origin and Steam. This version will include the fixing and improvement of both games – the original one, as well as the red alert.
It is a game which is 25 years old, and now it will boast of its upgraded textures and graphics. Now it will support for 4K resolution. Besides, the soundtrack has also been remastered by Frank Klepacki, the original composer. The fundamental gameplay is still same, but there is new UI, with upgraded control along with a built in map editor. Everything has created hand-in-hand with the Command & Conquer community.
Lead producer Jim Vessella clarified that the involvement of the community can be noticed in the sidebar. While working on this project, the developers were highly concerned of the sidebar. They thought that if they changed the sidebar too much, then it could break the nostalgia factor.
Vessella also said that the community had been keen to observe the gamers overhaul the sidebar UI as well as include components from the Red Alert 2, as well as Command & Conquer 3, containing extra slots, hotkeys, and tabs to aid in preventing the lack for more scrolling. Vessella also said that the community awareness had given them the confirmation to build the decision with courage that they further clarified with community council.
Vessella confessed that the community feedback hardly could guide to butting heads. However, the studio could reach to a general agreement. He said that an example of that was the development of the landscape. Since they were still using the older source code, the new generated landscape is as similar as the landscape of 1995.
The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection will contain Original game, Red Alert, Countersrike, Covert Ops as well as other bonus contents.
