Akon an American-Senegalese music triumph announced to build a cryptocurrency city that would revolutionize the developing economic landscape in Africa. With the assist of a US-based consulting and engineering firm KE international.
The city build by Akon would embrace a complex, a police station, a mall, residential units, hotels, a school, a waste facility, and a hospital campus. It would also append a solar power plant in the works, as an effort to prioritize energy going forward.
$4 billion dollars will be awarded towards the two phases the first half is expected to be finalized by 2023. The second phase of the project Akon City is planned to be finalized by the 2029 and should see Akon as the full-fledged official cryptocurrency.be finalized.

Akon hopes that cryptocurrency would revolutionize the economic structure of developing countries of Africa, Starting with Senegal. The whitepaper for Akon’s cryptocurrency project adds that the release of Akoin cryptocurrency is designed to “unlock the potential of the world’s largest growing workforce,” using blockchain technology.

Along with this futuristic crypto project, Akon’s city, the US-based consulting and engineering firm KE international is also managing the construction of a $2 billion dollar project in western Kenya, Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC). It is projected to be completed by the end of 2020, and The firm will also be using the Akoin cryptocurrency in certain transactions.
The introduction of the Akoin Crypto in Senegal is just a timid step forward towards globalizing cryptocurrency transactions throughout Africa and the other countries of the world too.
