Twitter is testing a new feature or can be said its own take on “stories” format and named it “Fleets”. This feature is now available to all Android and iOS users in India from Wednesday. Twitter stated that this feature is only available on the latest update of the Application.
Similar to Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp stories Fleets will also disappear from users’ timeline. The main feature of Fleets is that the users can’t retweet like regular tweets. However other users can respond to your Fleets via DM(Direct Message).
Testing, testing…
We’re testing a way for you to think out loud without the Likes, Retweets, or replies, called Fleets! Best part? They disappear after 24 hours. pic.twitter.com/r14VWUoF6p— X India (@XCorpIndia) June 9, 2020
Just like every other Social media platform such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat stories Twitter Fleets features are so alike to story features of other social media platform and they disappear after 24 hours of upload. For pressing longer on Fleets you have an option either to mute their Fleets or to go and check-out their Profile. Your followers can see your fleets at their home timeline. And if anyone can see your full profile can find your Fleets there. If you have DM’s open people can react and to your Fleets using emojis or by commenting. If you have protected Fleets only your followers can see your Fleets at the top of their timeline or by clicking on your Profile photo.
India is among the first markets for fleets after brazil to get this new feature.

Twitter is where people go to see and talk about what’s happening. But some people tell us about their uncomfortable to tweet because tweets are like Public and feel permanent. Also the feeling of RT’s(Re-Tweets), Likes, and replies so this feature would help people to have a conversation via Fleets.
