On Tuesday Trump’s administration announced that: The coronavirus Vaccine will be provided free of charge to American patients who can’t afford it.
The COVID-19 situation is getting worse day by day, about more than 2.1 million Americans have been infected by the Coronavirus and around 116k have been killed due to this Chinese virus.
Since the first reported case was less than five months ago, according to data compiled by John Hopkins University. U.S scientists are hopeful to create a Vaccine that would help to prevent COVID-19 will be ready by the first half of 2021.
U.S health officials and researchers have been working on the Vaccine development, and are aiming to produce about 300 million doses of a potential vaccine by January 2021. The official also stated that they would their goal is to make vaccines as much as possible and save lives as much they can.
Because of this Pandemic, US officials are investing in multiple stages of research for extra precaution. The Trump administration has narrowed down promising vaccines from seven to 14, officials didn’t say which ones have started vaccine production.
Without price controls, poor countries won’t be able to afford them. A sad truth we have learned from past global pandemics is that poor people hit first and worst. Vaccines are most urgently needed where the health system is fragile and where the effects of this new coronavirus could be catastrophic.
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump said that the US had already produced 2 million coronavirus vaccine doses that are “ready to go” once scientists figure out whether it’s safe and effective or not.
