Samsung is one company which starts of the year every year with the first flagship smartphones that set the tone of what’s to come for the entire year. Similarly, we are going to see the Galaxy S11 series launching from Samsung next month. This will show us the performance we should expect from the latest Qualcomm chips as well as Samsung’s display technology and the camera prowess that the company has built in a year’s time. However, we are few weeks away from Samsung’s 2020 flagship unveiling and we have an announcement from Samsung.
This announcement, as reported by The Verge, is regarding ‘Lite’ versions of their two flagships released last year named as the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. Now, we know that it is weird to launch a Lite version of your flagship at this point considering that a new smartphone will be launched in a month’s time.
However, Samsung must have something in their mind which is why they decided to go ahead with the launch. As for the smartphones, we can see that they are lite versions of their flagships but still feature decent specifications as the S10 Lite has a Snapdragon 855 inside. You also get three rear cameras with a new Super Steady OIS feature which is made for the videos.
On the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, you get a stylus at an affordable price while it also gets an Exynos processor seen on last year’s Galaxy Note 10. While Samsung has not released the pricing and availability of its phones, we do expect the Galaxy Note 10 Lite to be cheaper than the S10 Lite based on its specs.
If we were to guess the phone’s prices, we would say that the Galaxy S10 Lite might come at a $750 price tag while the Galaxy Note 10 Lite might start at $700. However, we do feel that there might be very fewer buyers of both these phones with the availability of iPhone 11 and OnePlus 7T at the same price.
