Indias most prestigious chain of college IIT, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur has decided to go fully online this semester it is going to conduct online examinations for the current semester of the academic year 2019-20.
One of the most prestigious institutes of India has also decided to conduct online classes for the next semester which is likely to start from September 1. This was decided by the senate of the IIT in its recent meeting on the closure of the current semester.
The evaluation components like quizzes, term-paper, projects, take-home assignments are decided to be taken off remotely from the home of the students and online examination can be taken from home or any location convenient to them, according to the Senate decision.
Given the special COVID-19 situation, the institute has decided to associate not more than 20% weightage for the final semester exam. Further, alternate processes have been provisioned to take care of any possible disruption or difficulty on the part of the students.
Arrangements are being made for AI-based remotely proctored examinations with the help of major software industry in the country having experience of working with NTA and IIT JEE, the institute shared in a release.

IIT had decided to bring Revision classes for the students are being conducted through online mode from 22 June 2020 to 30 June 2020 and for laboratory courses, online viva voce will be conducted for end semester assessment. The lab exams will be completed during 1-10 July 2020 within the regular lab slot. Most other IITs too have taken to online mode for the examinations as well as the upcoming semester.
