Google India will help its users now, by helping them scouting out COVID-19 test centers, the company announced on 12th June. It’s adding a new feature on Google search, Google Assistant and Google maps too that would help users to find information about the authorized COVID-19 testing centers nearby. The feature would be available on English and eight other state languages which include Hindi, Bengali, Telegu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and Gujarati.

The feature will be available on both Android and iOS devices.

How does the Feature work?

Users will be able to find information about the COVID-19 authorized testing centers just by simply searching “Coronavirus testing”, ”COVID-19 testing”, or “COVID testing” on google.

When searching these above keywords on google, Users will be able to spot the COVID-19 authorized testing labs on the results page, providing a list of testing labs along with the key pieces of information about the Labs and guidance before using their services.

Similarly, Google search and Google Maps would show similar results about testing centers near you. Notably, users in all three apps will be able to check whether the testing center is a private entity or run by a government.

Working closely with @ICMRDELHI & @mygovindia, Google Maps, Google Assistant and Search are now beginning to surface testing centres in Hindi, English & 7 regional languages. Google on a tweet also stated that the government is closely working with the Indian government or can be said with the (ICMR) Indian Council of Medical Research and MyGov to provide users with information on authorized testing labs.
